A home made bomb went off early on Thursday morning, damaging a shop in Limassol selling electric motorbikes and cars owned by a 52-year-old resident. Nicosia – Limassol highway reopens after truck fire (VIDEO)

One of the lanes along the Nicosia to Limassol highway reopened on Tuesday afternoon after both lanes were closed when a truck caught alight. According to the police, the fire broke out at around noon after one of the truck’s tires burst. Police say a powerful explosion rocked a neighbourhood in Limassol in the early hours of Monday morning after car bomb went off. Limassol CID claim the explosives used in the bomb attack ‘were highly volatile’ and that the vehicle – which belonged to a 29-year-old woman – has sustained significant damage. Police are investigating a case of attempted destruction of property with explosive substances after an incident in Limassol in the early hours of Monday. According to a police statement, at around 1.30am an explosion occurred when a high grade handmade device went off which had been placed inside the bonnet of a car in Limassol that belonged to a 29-year-old man.
