  • After her ordeal, 35-year-old events manager Helen Kotonias talked to The Cyprus Weekly on Thursday.

  • Half-Cypriot Helen said that she had, on the advice of the British Embassy, eventually used her credit card to pay for her flight home to the UK.

  • The decision came after she had had to spend three days longer than planned in Cyprus when Aegean Airline flight attendants refused to ask other passengers not to consume nuts on Helen’s flight home.

  • “Aegean has said they will reimburse me for my flight and I am hoping my insurance will cover my other expenses,” Helen said.
